Early 2022 Baskets

I’ve found that while I was preparing materials for classes I became inspired to create.  Here are a few of those creations.

The first photo is a traditional basket that I created as a gift.

Next is a close up of that basket.

Then comes a series of baskets I made with the concept of Interwoven in mind.

The first is  made from netted willow bark, interwoven with willow bark and dandelion cordage.  Then overlayed with a cedar root.

The next two in this series are random weave cedar bark vessels.  One with a root rim/embellishment and the second with cedar and beargrass overlaid and for the rim.

The last photo is a class sample basket all from willow bark I grow in my backyard.  I’ll be teaching this basket at the Columbia Basin Basketry Retreat in September, 2022.
