I’ve found that while I was preparing materials for classes I became inspired to create. Here are a few of those creations.
The first photo is a traditional basket that I created as a gift.
Next is a close up of that basket.
Then comes a series of baskets I made with the concept of Interwoven in mind.
The first is made from netted willow bark, interwoven with willow bark and dandelion cordage. Then overlayed with a cedar root.
The next two in this series are random weave cedar bark vessels. One with a root rim/embellishment and the second with cedar and beargrass overlaid and for the rim.
The last photo is a class sample basket all from willow bark I grow in my backyard. I’ll be teaching this basket at the Columbia Basin Basketry Retreat in September, 2022.
